January 2015 Favorites
/I can't believe it's already the end of January! January is always a fresh start and I wear much less makeup and focus on skincare instead. My search for perfect, glowy skin intensifies in January, leading to an emphasis on skincare and natural makeup. Here are my favorites for the month!
Gloss Moderne High Gloss Serum - On New Year's Eve, I went through a pretty dramatic hair transformation and went from brunette to a soft blonde ombre. Although Olaplex was used in my lightener, it's still really important to keep my hair as hydrated as possible. The Gloss Moderne High Gloss Serum contains coconut oil and keratin, which makes is very hydrating and restorative to the hair. It also smells like a tropical vacation! I use about a pump on towel-dried hair. I also apply a pea-sized amount to dry hair when I feel like giving it extra TLC.
Kate Somerville Nourish Moisturizer - This is definitely not the last time you're going to hear from me about Kate Somerville. I've been a loyal KS fan for a couple years now and my KS collection just keeps getting larger. This is my favorite moisturizer of the moment. It's hydrating without being heavy and absorbs quickly into the skin. It contains a multitude of goodies for your skin - Vitamins A, C, and E, green tea and ginger extracts, etc... I started with the smaller jar and upgraded to the large one when it ran out. I also love that it comes in a pump to keep everything hygienic.
Tata Harper Regenerating Cleanser - I've been using this in the mornings and it's very gentle and refreshing without drying the skin. I also love how my makeup goes on after using this. It's in the $$$ department, but a little goes a long way and I haven't come across anything else like it.
Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes & Too Faced Lash Injection Fibers - As a lash devotee, this is my favorite combination of the moment that gives me that false lash effect without the effort of extensions and fake lashes. The CT mascara is very black, volumizing, lush, and lengthening and the TF fibers just give it that extra oomph. I layer on the fibers after the first coat of mascara and then apply 2-3 more coats of mascara.
Urban Decay B6 Vitamin-Infused Complexion Prep Spray - I thought I'd give this a try and I'm so glad I did! I always use a primer (Hourglass Mineral Veil or Benefit Porefessional) and am able to get pretty decent wear out of my foundation, but my skin stays even fresher with a few spritzes of this prep spray. I moisturize, spray, then wait a few minutes before applying primer and it makes such a huge difference in how my makeup wears through the day. I highly recommend this to anyone who has oily skin.
Ren Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial - I was amazed by how soft, smooth, and supple my skin felt after the first time I used this product. It's so easy to use and the results are outstanding. My skin just glows after this. I like to use this before a night out or to refresh my skin a couple weeks after a facial. I use a lot of "active" skincare products so I don't use it every 3 days as recommended, it's more of a once every week or two product for me.
